2012 RACE SEASON
Greetings From Your Race Director
Welcome to a new year of racing and fun on the water.
This year’s calendar is packed with all kinds of races including: a Figure Eight, a Dingy Race, a Poker Run, a Dead Reckoning Race, a 2 day Cannon Ball Run, and the five Cup Races.
With all that said, I can’t do it alone. Please volunteer to help me fill the committee boat positions. The committee boat will place the turn markers, register boats and crew, start the race, and record the results.
Bring a boat full of friends and come have some fun!

The course will be a one lap simple triangle with coordinates of 1 (start), 10, 9, 1. It will be 5.2 nm and all buoys must be passed on the PORT side. The 10 marker locations (coordinates) are in the “myhbyc.com” web site under racing. They are the same as last year. Start for all boats will be 13:00 GPS time. The tide is 2’ 6 “ at 11:45. but, if you have a problem getting out please contact the committee boat.
On arrival at the starting line give the committee boat a good look at your boat (without hitting it) then register your boat name, give a count of all jolly souls on board and notice of any first time sailors. There may be a surprise at the end of the year for the boat that sails the most souls.
As always, the race will be contingent on weather conditions. The object of our racing program is to have a fun and safe day on the water. So, when you plan for boating in February, don’t take chances be prepared.
